About Me

I am a driven digital marketer adept at SEO and Retail marketing illustrated across 4+ years of experience in related roles. Gained expertise in data analysis, leveraging insights to tell a story and drive business solutions. Firm understanding of editorial SEO and how it aligns on-page optimizations with content strategy.

I have a firm understanding of the digital marketing landscape. Digital marketing techniques such as search engine optimization, affiliate marketing, and buyer journey mapping. I also have experience using various SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.

And with over one year of experience in retail; where I operated in management, sales, and merchandising for a home improvement store in the Midwest. Here are a few functions I mastered during that spell:

Plan-o-gram design; New store layout design and modification; Point of sale interactions (POS) i.e. in-store signage and POP; Inventory analysis; and Project management.

I graduated from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester with a Master of Science in Marketing Analytics. During my time at Simon, I was involved with the Simon Soccer Club, and Simon Marketing Association which allowed me to further expound my marketing knowledge.

​

Furthermore, I have a knack for business analytics and I'm fascinated by how data can be woven to tell a story, fill in the blanks, and even define a business plan. I have experience with relational database management using SQL, data visualization using Tableau, data cleaning, predictive analytics, and descriptive analytics using R programming.

On the casual end, I consider myself a sports fanatic where Saturdays and Sundays are dedicated to cheering Machester United on. And if I am not doing that, I'm traveling and trying all types of cuisine in the process.

  • Conduct competitive and market opportunity analyses as they relate to search intent, competitor niche saturation, backlink profiles, and SERP anomalies.

    • Result: Performed keyword research analysis and identified +2,100 informational and transactional loan-type terms to drive leads.

  • Monitor and analyze site performance; evaluate tracking metrics to recommend solutions to increase organic ranking or improve site health.

  • Maintain current knowledge of SEO and industry trends.

  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration to help define content strategy in alignment with technical best practices.

    • ​Result: Aided in creating topic opportunity reports, identifying 120 net new articles geared towards gaining more SERP real estate for a leading mortgage lender and outranking its competitors.

  • Performed ad-hoc analysis to diagnose the cause behind traffic declines for +280 pages.

    • ​Result: Attributed traffic declines to various factors such as lengthy titles, descriptions, and headings, poor CWV, and competing content. Actionable takeaways included duplicate content and page-level audits.

  • Designed and implemented product layouts into plan-o-grams to enhance the self-service concept, achieving a 2% revenue increase for product categories managed.

    • ​Result: Achieved a 2% revenue increase for product categories managed.

  • Oversaw five-store restorations and two store openings; implemented new signage modifications and storewide audits during this period.

    • Result: Upheld the company’s best merchandising practices, allowing for future store planning and fixture reordering.

  • Created and modified blueprints highlighting pallet rack dimensions.

    • Result: Plans were used as a reference point for new and pre-existing stores to ensure efficient merchandising.

  • Administered inventory management, product lookup, and price queries using a multifunctional retail operating system to enhance the guests’ shopping experience.

    • Result: Achieved a $20,000 bi-weekly sales goal as a new team member in the building materials department.

  • Performed storewide audits working in conjunction with the Inventory Controller to highlight and query discrepancies in all departments.

  • Assisted with monthly liquor and food cost calculations exceeding $25,000/month, tracking seasonal demands, using reported findings to make future projections.

  • Aided in the preparation of an occupancy forecast for 539 rooms; observing booking trends (peak and off-peak times) and using these insights to make real-time pricing decisions.

  • Utilized Hotel Effectiveness (a labor enterprise system) to uphold the hotel’s best practices, resulting in operating costs decreasing by 3% for the month of July.

Digital Assistant

Jan. 2016 – May 2018

  • Performed manuscript digitization, data cleaning, coding and editing text forms using HTML, Photoshop, and w3schools (web development portal); transcribing 150+ books in the process.

  • Employed care and caution while processing rare manuscripts using the Atiz Bookdrive (mass digitization book scanner) to scan and upload books as TIFF files; Photoshop as a tool to touch-up symmetrical discrepancies in diagrams, and HTML coding to edit semi-raw data emitted by the Optical Card Reader; processed 3,000+ pages during my tenure.
